Climate and rain variability has a central impact on land and water uses in northwestern Namibia. As there was no actual data on precipitation in our research areas available, the LINGS project realized in collaboration with the University of Hamburg and SASSCAL (Southern African Science Service Center for Climate Change and Adaptive Land Management) the installation of five weather stations in the southern part (Khorixas, Konop Pos & Mopanie Pos), central part (Kaoko Otavi), and northern part (Okangwati) of the Kunene region.
